Context: I started at Nexxt Intelligence as a Design Intern in Summer 2020, working on their rebranding, marketing, copywriting and UX needs. Since then I've transitioned into a permanent role as one of their UX Designers and have recently been promoted to Design Lead on our design team.
Back in September 2020, before we'd finalized our design system, another designer came up with this design for what the dashboard overview.

The platform has gone through a lot of changes since then, including a visual revamp! (I can't take full credit for the new visual design, since it was mostly Michelle Chan's stellar work, but I'm currently compiling everything into a design & component library.)
The main UX problems:
I met with our data scientists and project owner to discuss specs & do a little expert interview/user test (our data scientists use inca's platform for Nexxt's full service research)! From the expert interviews, I wanted to learn:
Questions 1 & 2 informed the layout of the page and Question 3 informed the actual layout. I'll go over each finding and how I incorporated them into the design.
The wonderful data scientists also provided me with some competitor research and user personas (that are not my work to include).
